Valencia: 10-13 March (3 nights, 4 days). 7 places.
Valencia is an extraordinary city. It is both ultra modern, thanks to the City of Arts & Sciences, & also classically Spanish in the Old City, dating back to the 13th century. We will spend time in both areas of the city.
The City of Arts & Sciences was designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. Our hotel, the 4* Illusion Acqua, overlooks the CAS which will give us ample opportunity to photograph all the fantastic buildings, inside and out, at golden and blue hour as well as during the day. Long exposure technique, colour, BW, abstracts - this area is fantastic for all sorts of photographic experimentation which will make the most of buildings such as the Hemisfèric, the Palace of Arts, Umbracle, Agora and the bridge - the Assut d'Or.
The Old City, El Carmen, is just as interesting: narrow intertwining streets - great for street photography, the 13th century cathedral, the Gothic centre of commerce - La Lonja de la Seda & the bustling Central Market.
