Erasmus Bridge Rotterdam
Footbridge in Rotterdam

Rotterdam is a city that beautifully blends modernism with history, making it a perfect spot for capturing stunning architectural contrasts. The buildings and structures we will be exploring are not just landmarks—they're real pieces of art, with so much potential for minimalist compositions and creative long-exposure shots. This trip will explore the iconic buildings, bridges, towers & tunnels in this fascinating city. We will photograph the Erasmus Bridge, the Ferry House, The Port of Rotterdam, the colourful Market Hall (even I will opt for colour there!), the distinctive cube shaped Kubus houses & the ultra-modern buildings around the Centraal Station. Our hotel (called the Usual Hotel, 4*) will be in the centre of the city so that everything is in easy walking distance. We will make a day trip to Hoofdoorp to capture the Calatrava bridges - a wonderful example of how design and functionality merge in modern infrastructure. Time permitting we will also visit the Kinderdijk area to provide a nice balance to the modernism of Rotterdam, by photographing the 19 windmills built in the 18th century.  Architectural photography can result in very powerful images and we will keep the group to a max of 7 to help teach the tips and tricks to ensure everyone gets great images. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the key skills to make powerful architectural images
